Noise Risk Assessment
An employer must appoint, employ or hire a competent person called the Noise Risk Assessor to carry out a noise assessment in accordance with the standards set by the Department.
Noise Risk Assessor (NRA) must :
- Undertake a noise risk assessment at the workplace as required by the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019 throughout the registration period's validity.
- Make sure the noise measuring equipment is accurately calibrated before conducting any noise risk assessments, and notify the director of the relevant DOSH state at least 14 days beforehand.
- Conducting any noise risk assessments, and notify the director of the relevant DOSH state at least 14 days beforehand.
- Complete the noise risk assessment and deliver a comprehensive report to the employer within 30 days of completion
- After the assessment is finished, the employer must receive the results of the evaluation and recommendations for noise control within 30 days
- Must also deliver the noise risk assessment summary report (per Appendix 9) to the Director General.
